Step 1: Application

What happens after I apply?

The application triggers a set of standard qualification checks that Science Exchange runs on every incoming supplier. Every supplier clears the same bar, which is why buyers trust the result.

Financial robustness

screening confirms the supplier is commercially viable. Regulatory and legal sanction screening checks the supplier against global watchlists and compliance databases. Address and website verification confirms the organization exists where it says it does. Suppliers who clear these checks move to Step 2.

Step 2: Qualification. Assessments, agreement, payment verification.

What does supplier qualification involve?

Qualification is where the depth lives. It is the layer that gives buyers confidence to send work on Day 1.

  • Required surveys

cover general quality control and information security, and every supplier completes them. Organizations offering animal services or human biospecimen work complete additional in-depth surveys specific to those categories. Suppliers who do not offer those services still complete the survey to confirm it, so buyers see a complete record either way.

  • The Science Exchange Supplier Signature Form

is the agreement that governs the supplier relationship, the legal structure that replaces per-buyer contracting.

  • Payment verification

confirms the supplier's banking and invoicing setup so payment processing works from the first completed milestone.

Suppliers who already work with a requester through a direct agreement do not lose that relationship. Existing agreements between a supplier and a requester can be uploaded to the platform and applied to work running through it, so a supplier can operate under Science Exchange's standard agreement with new buyers and under existing paper where it is already in place.

Once all three are complete, the supplier moves to onboarding.

STEP 3: ONBOARDING

How long does supplier onboarding take?

Onboarding is where a qualified supplier becomes visible. Science Exchange walks suppliers through four setup steps:

  • Create accounts

for everyone at your organization who will use the platform.

  • Set up your catalog

of products and services, whether that is fixed-price standardized assays or custom-quote project work.

  • Add relevant accreditations

to your storefront so buyers see verified credentials before they send a request.

  • Complete platform training

either through a live webinar with the Science Exchange team or self-guided video walkthroughs, whichever fits your team's schedule. Training is built for the people who will manage day-to-day activity on the platform.

On completion, your storefront goes live to every sponsor on the platform. That means every buyer account on Science Exchange can find you, view your accreditations, and initiate requests.

HOW DO SUPPLIERS GET PAID THROUGH SCIENCE EXCHANGE?

One payment process for every buyer, across all projects.

Payment runs through Science Exchange's centralized processing, matching invoices to purchase orders and completed milestones automatically. No separate invoicing setup per buyer. No logging into five different procurement portals to check payment status.

The Suppliers Overview page covers the commercial model, and the payments capability page goes deeper on mechanics.

Questions We Hear Frequently

Is it free to list my services?

Yes. There is no application fee, no listing fee, and no charge to appear in buyer search results. Science Exchange's fees apply to completed transactions on the platform.

What information do I need to provide?

The application collects the services or products you offer, relevant certifications, and the buyer categories that fit best. Science Exchange then runs financial robustness, regulatory and legal sanction screening, and address and website verification before moving you to the qualification stage.

What happens if my organization is not a fit right now?

You hear that directly, with specifics, rather than sitting in an unanswered queue. Fit depends on service category alignment with current buyer demand and passing the application-stage checks. Organizations not ready yet can reapply once circumstances change.

Do I need a separate contract for every buyer after qualifying?

No. The Supplier Signature Form you sign during qualification covers work with every requester account on the platform. Existing contracts you hold with a requester can be uploaded and applied.

How does Science Exchange verify supplier quality?

Qualification assessments cover information security, anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC), and animal welfare where applicable, plus payment verification. Buyers can view your verified accreditations on your storefront before sending a request.
