Warren McKenzie

Conjoint Academic - UNSW School of Materials Science and Engineering

Dr McKenzie is currently the Business Development Manager for the Australian National Fabrication Facility. He is a materials scientist with significant experience in semiconductor fabrication, electron microscopy and ion beam lithography. He also has experience in science administration establishing a start-up company and the Advanced Microscopy Facility (AML) at CRANN in Trinity College Dublin.

Executive Fellow - Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships

A competitive fellowship awarded by the Australian Government's Endeavour Program.

The Executive project was hosted primarily by the Marvel Berkeley Nanofabrication Laboratory, and also the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility.

The project has seeded a number of projects that will bring Australian Nanoscience closer to the USA, San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.

This role included nanoscience research, the establishment of the CRANN Advanced Microscopy Laboratory (AML), and technical adviser for the INSPIRE consortium regarding microscope procurement for Ireland.

Research included the surface patterning of diamond, which generated academic papers, a patent and business plan that led to the establishment of spinout company Adama Innovations.
