Charles Vanderburg

Director, Advanced Tissue Resource Center - Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center

Dr. Vanderburg is director of the Advanced Tissue Resource Center at the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease. Dr. Vanderburg has expertise in the microproteomic, microgenomic, and microepigenomic profiling of human neuropathological tissue specimens and their derivatives. His lab focuses on adopting and developing novel nanoscale and multiplex technologies that enable the molecular pathological assessment of limited specimens, especially those from laser capture microdissection. Additionally, his lab is exploring artifact-control methodologies and novel bioinformatic strategies that are appropriate for such nanoscale sample evaluations, particularly as these are germane to biomarker research and neurodegenerative disease research. Dr Vanderburg's has 27 years of experience in the areas of LCM derived neural disease expression profiling and quantization, and the appended representative publications are germane to that expertise.
