Susanne M. Gollin, Ph.D. is a Professor of Human Genetics, University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and Professor of Otolaryngology and Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine; Director of the University of Pittsburgh Cell Culture and Cytogenetics Facility; and Clinical Cancer Cytogenetics Consultant in the Pittsburgh Cytogenetics Laboratory of the UPMC. She is a researcher, teacher, mentor, innovator, and clinical cytogeneticist, board certified by the American College of Medical Genetics. Professor Gollin is a member of the Pennsylvania Cancer Prevention, Control and Research Advisory Board, the University of Pittsburgh Faculty Senate Athletics Committee, and the editorial boards of Genes, Chromosomes & Cancer, Cytogenetic & Genome Research, and Melanoma Research, amongst other scholarly journals. Dr. Gollin holds multiple patents. Research Interests: Cytogenetic alterations as diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic biomarkers for cancers; mechanisms involved in chromosomal instability; defects in the DNA damage response in cancer cells. On a mission to cure cancer, or at least make it a chronic disease rather than a deadly one.
