16S sequencing enables unparalleled insight of microbial communities, enabling researchers to study a variety of microbiomes such as soil and intestinal flora. SeqMatic offers sequencing and analysis of 16S rRNA gene for bacterial communities. Dozens to hundreds samples can be sequenced and analyzed with rapid turnaround times.

Sequencing is performed on the Illumina MiSeq instrument, which is the best choice for 16S sequencing due to its ability to generate high quality data from PCR amplicons.

Free data analysis is included in the form of a summary table showing the identified microbial species and it's abundance. Additional bioinformatics services are also available for an additional fee.

Please request an estimate with your total number of samples for full pricing details.

Service description
The goal of 16S Ribosomal RNA Sequencing is to determine the type and relative abundance of bacterial and archaeal species in heterogeneous samples, such as soil, marine, or gut microbiome. Floracheck™ is a proprietary assay that improves upon current 16S metagenomics techniques with significant sensitivity and specificity. Side-by-side comparison with the most commonly used 16S metagenomics assays reveals that Floracheck™ has the ability to detect more bacterial and archaeal genera with a lower limit of detection for both environmental and mammalian species.

Advantages:
• Higher sensitivity
• Low bias
• Cost-effective
• Fast turnaround

Region coverage:
Floracheck™ Environmental (V3, V4, and V5 hypervariable regions)
Floracheck™ Mammalian(V3 and V4 hypervariable regions).
Floracheck Essential (V4 hypervariable region only)
Deliverables:
• Raw data as FASTQ files
• Chart detailing the type and relative abundance of bacterial and archaeal genera in each sample
Sequencing Depth:
Guaranteed 50MB data, deep coverage per request

TAT:
• 2 weeks

Sample Submission:
• Cell pellets
• High quality genomic DNA (a minimum of 100ng as quantified by Qubit 2.0)
• OD260/280 ratio is between 1.8 to 2.0
• OD260/230 ratio is between 1.5 to 2.0

Data security: biometrically restricted laboratory access, closed loop data behind firewall, and biometrically restricted data room

Promotion period:
Feburary 1, 2016 to May 24, 2016; minimum sample amount: 24

The Ion 16S™ Metagenomics Kit is designed for rapid, comprehensive, and broad-range research analyses of mixed microbial populations. The kit uses two primer pools to amplify seven hypervariable regions (V2, V3, V4, V6, V7, V8, and V9) of bacterial 16S rRNA. The combination of the two primer pools enables broad-range, sequence-based identification of bacteria from complex mixed populations.

Contact for pricing - usually between $18 to $25 per sample based on a plate (96 samples). There is a hard floor for pricing (minimum of about $2500 per run). We do not perform the bioinformatics analysis, but will deliver demultiplexed Read1 and Read2 FASTQs from each sample. Usual turn-around is under 30 days.
