Microarray Data Analysis
Microarray data analysis is the elimination of background from, normalization of, and statistical analysis of raw microarray output. Microarrays are powerful tools for proteomics studies, gene expression analyses, epigenetic analyses, the identification of regulatory elements, clinical diagnostics, and much more. However, the conversion of raw microarray output into interpretable data is challenging particularly due to background noise and the need to normalize data, a process that is often specific to the microarray processing platform. In addition to the elimination of background and the normalization of data, microarray data analysis can include visualization of the data, heat map generation, integrated analyses, and downstream functional analyses.
