Collision induced dissociation is a method for deliberately fragmenting ionized sample molecules before mass analysis. The fragment sizes can yield information about the structure of the parent molecule. The ionized sample molecules are accelerated and collided with neutral molecules in order to cause bond breakage to generate fragments. CID can be used in tandem mass spectrometry to fragment molecular ions after the first detection in preparation for a second round of detection.
Science Exchange is the fastest and safest way to order scientific services. All providers have passed a qualification process and agreed to pre-negotiated legal terms that protect your confidentiality and IP.
