The Small Molecule Screening Core Facility (SMSC) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute offers high-throughput screening services using a broad range of non-radioactive cell based and biochemical assays at a competitive price. Our collection of more than 110,000 compounds can be used in both 96- and 384-well format. Liquid handling and library delivery equipment allows a throughput rate of up to 16,000 data points per day.
Screening of the library of your choice, and database formation
Typical screening of drug discovery libraries (105,000 drug-like molecules) takes 4-5 weeks depending on the assay type.
Three libraries of known bioactive compounds can be screened in one day at very affordable price*:

SMSC has capabilities to employ the wide range of cell based and biochemical assays (Fluorescence intensity, Fluorescence polarization, TRF, FRET, Luminescence and enhanced luminescence, Absorbance, AlphaScreen). Original screening data will be stored on the facility computers. We guarantee the confidentiality of this data. The resulting data can be delivered in the raw format or converted into the database format selected by investigator.
Hit selection and validation
Selected hits will be validated using the screening assay. We will build a dose dependence profile for each hit in serial dilutions starting with the concentration used during screening. Accurate IC50 values can be determined for selected hits upon request.
Assay will be tested (sensitivity, variability, reproducibility), modified and adjusted to work in HTS format and statistically validated (Z-factor). It includes the pilot screening of 1,600 compounds.
