The University of Oklahoma Protein Production Core Facility (PPC) is dedicated to providing expression and purification services of proteins at a scale that meets the quantity and purity benchmarks for X-ray structure determination and therapeutics. Services range from scale up of existing protocols to development of de novo expression and purification strategies. Currently, the PPC employs bacteria and insect cell host systems with a view to expanding into mammalian host systems. The PPC specializes in systematic method development for expressing and purifying challenging proteins and endotoxin removal from protein solutions.

For proteins with established (e.g. published) methods of expression and purification, the core can produce desired quantities of pure protein for a full-service fee (Option A). Alternatively, the core can play a partial role, working with members of the client lab to assist in any and all aspects of protein production at a lower fee rate (Option B).
