The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Core at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute is a centralized shared resource that offers the capability for NMR studies on proteins, peptides, small molecules, and carbohydrates in solution or in solid state.

The Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Core at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute hosts a Bruker BioSpin NMR instrument with operation field at 18.77 Tesla (800 MHz proton frequency) and a triple resonance inverse detection cryo probe for 1H observation with 15N and 13C decoupling and 13C observation with 1H and 15N decoupling (5 mm sample diameter). We offer services relevant to early drug discovery endeavors that include but not limited to hit/lead structure elucidation and confirmation and ligand-target interaction studies. We are open to consider any projects that the customers may bring to us.

  • Compound structure elucidation – the compound can be a synthetic molecule or a natural product; typical experiments include 1H, 13C, 1H,13C-HSQC, 1H,13C-HMBC, H2BC, 1,1- and 1,n-ADEQUATE or others as requested by customer.
