About NETRI

NETRI, The Neuro Engineering Technologies Research Institute, is the encounter of two scientists sharing entrepreneurial ambitions. Thibault Honegger and Florian Larramendy, co-founders, both left the CNRS to take up the challenge of NETRI by creating a private research institute to develop disruptive technologies directly applied to patients suffering from neurological disorders.

 

NETRI has unique expertise and technologies in microfluidics engineering. NETRI designs, fabricates and exploits 3D microfluidic chips dedicated to neuroscience, aiming at understanding the structural and functional mechanistic of neural circuits, neurological disorders or potential novel treatments. Using a multi-compartments approach, we can reproduce in vitro neural networks of every complexity up to connectome-on-chip. Using rodent or iPSCs cells, physiologically relevant conditions can be replicated using NETRI’s NeurofluidicsTM chips:

  • Multi-nodes neural/non-neural interfaces;
  • Neural circuit of every complexity;
  • Controlled structural connectivity;
  • Functional network recording;
  • Co-cultures in all nodes with fluid isolation;
  • Controlled microenvironment with disease related injury;
  • High throughput microscopy compliance;
  • Small amount of reagents.

NETRI currently collaborates with pharmaceutical companies, CROs, academic researchers and medical doctors to accelerate the understanding of neural troubles mechanisms and the discoveries of new treatments.

Our multidisciplinary team is composed of scientists, engineers and technicians. We are open to all new opportunities and have recently initiated new collaborations.

 

Our technologies : NETRI Co-Founders have developed an expertise in microfluidics engineering over 10 years of academic research. This unique expertise and technologies are put to use in the realisation of 3D microfluidic chips dedicated to neuroscience. Using 3D printing technologies allow the fabrication of industrial quality devices at a high-throughput rate. Coupling a complex 3D microfluidic architecture with functional readout at the level of the entire network has only been done by NETRI.

 

Our products : Standard and customized 3D NeurofluidicTM chips. NETRI’s NeurofluidicTM chips allow their users to build and cultivate in vitro neural networks in simple or complex devices. They will reveal more precise and more significant results than those currently offered on the market.

 

Our services : NETRI provides its expertise to its customers to design and manufacture prototypes adapted to their needs. Global support is offered at all stages. A successful delivery can lead to devices supplies on a regular basis. NETRI also provide screening service for CROs and Pharma industry using NeurofluidicTM chips and our rodent models in our laboratories on their behalf. This service ensures a rapid screening of effects on the neural network and therefore enhances the credibility of industrial accreditation applications.
