Key-Obs is a preclinical Contract Research Organisation (CRO) specialized in central nervous system in vivo pharmacological studies. Key-Obs offers in vivo models and screening assays in the fields of psychiatry (schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and addiction), cognition, neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease), juvenile diseases (ADHD, autism), rare diseases (Huntington’s disease, CMT), ALS, as well as genotyping/phenotyping of various transgenic rodents.
We complete behavioural studies with histological and immunological studies to provide a multifactor analysis and optimise the information level for our clients.
Key-Obs works for major pharmaceutical and Biotech companies all over the world, as well as academic partners.
Our models are well validated, we also customize models and tests to your specific needs.
We can administrate treatments via all routes, and collect tissues samples (plasma, CSF, brain) in relation to biomarkers analysis and histological staining.
To facilitate the screening of drugs of our clients, we are also offering in vivo screening package in psychiatry at competitive price.
Publications
We have the capacitý and expertise to breed rodents for our clients, and take various fluid samples during the breeding if needed. Phenotyping, genotyping can also be done during the breeding period.
We validated the mice and rat SOD1 G93A model.
Motor functions are scored as read-outs.
Various biochemical biomarkers can be scored as well.
Tg rats PMP22 impaired on motor behaviour and grip strength from week 11 to 20 allowing chronic in vivo studies.
We have two models for the two main deficits in ADHD:
We have several models validated for evaluation of the drug addictive effects:
Benefit from our strong expertise in specialized areas to conduct your specific research projects in the following fields.
All the relevant tools for an evaluation of the functional consequences of genomic mutations.
The internal data base : an essential tool for functional genomic research and a guide for the selection of suitable strains for pharmacological studies. Numerous inbred and outbred mice strains have been studied in the Key-Obs’ laboratory for their behavioral performance in various tests.
Stress-induced anxiety in Elevated Plus-Maze in SD rats
Stress-induced hyperthermia in CD1 mice
To accelerate the discovery of new active compounds in the field of Psychiatry, Key-Obs offers a fast in-vivo screen in CD1 mice using the most predictive tests in depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Your active compounds are rapidly positioned in a therapeutic indication.
This package includes:
The study includes 4 dose groups, one vehicle group, and one positive control.
We are offering for a limited cost, a simplified package for in-vivo screen in the domain of schizophrenia.
In 1 month, we screen in CD1 mice, three compounds single dose each in reproducible and well validated models of positive symptoms, cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia, and for side effects.
Positive symptoms: Amphetamine-induced hyperactivity and MK-801-induced hyperactivity
Cognitive symptoms: MK-801 induced amnesia in Y-maze test
Sedation: Spontaneous locomotor activity
Extrapyramidal side effects: Catalepsy at 30, 60, 120 min
The study includes one vehicle group, and one positive control.
Depression:
We are offering a screening package for antidepressant, testing consecutively 16 compounds single dose in the well validated Forced Swim Test in mouse CD1, or C57. One Vehicle group and one positive control (Imipramine) included.
