Custom Biomaterial Collections
Key Biologics' highly trained professionals perform cellular and blood-component collection services in accordance with in-house or customer-sponsored protocols and tested to customer-specification.
Key Biologics can perform a wide variety of selections and purifications to achieve the requested cell population or blood component in compliance with customer specification.
Products can be collected from qualified and consented “normal” donors, donor-patients (for autologous cell therapies), or diseased donors.
Key Biologics' custom collection service can provide research and clinical-grade products sourced from multiple sources including peripheral blood (apheresis product), whole blood, and umbilical cord blood.
True Off-the-Clot serum is produced from a single unit of whole blood units collected into a sterile anticoagulant-free 600mL blood bag. It is not re-calcified plasma. The whole blood unit is allowed to clot and the serum is separated by centrifugation. A typical serum unit contains between 220 and 260mL of serum. The serum is stored in a liquid state (2°C to 6°C) or frozen (<-80°C) depending on the customer’s specifications. Preferences for donor criteria and selection options are available. Liquid or frozen units can be packaged and shipped for overnight delivery.
