About InVision BioResources

Since 1995, SPCI Retina, d/b/a InVision BioResources, has provided high quality ocular tissues such as bovine retina and cornea, purified bovine rod outer segment (ROS) and purified bovine RPE microsomes to the vision research community throughout the United States and internationally, while still specializing in retina and retinal cell purification. InVision also offers ocular tissues (cornea, retina, lens, vitreous, aqueous humor) from other species including chicken, mouse, pig, rabbit, and rat. Additionally, InVision expanded its scope of services to include comparative and veterinary ophthalmic pathology evaluation.

Since its inception, InVision BioResources expanded its scope of services to include a comprehensive utilization and distribution of valuable ocular incidental animal tissues from a variety of species and expertise in ocular pathology of animal models as well as naturally occurring diseases in order to further facilitate biomedical research in other research areas directed towards improving human and animal health.

Pathology Consulting

InVision BioResources expanded its scope of services to include comparative and veterinary ophthalmic pathology evaluation. We provide services ranging from researchers to veterinary clinicians. We offer expertise in ocular pathology of animal models as well as naturally occurring diseases.

We can provide expertise in the following:

- Description and interpretation of gross and microscopic lesions
- Characterization of phenotype in genetic mouse models
- Consultation regarding animal models and experimental design
- Consultation on special stains and immunohistochemistry
- Elucidating pathology problems
- Manuscript preparation of images, lesion description, data summary and interpretation
- Fixation techniques

Histopathologic Tissue Evaluation:

Tissue Evaluation (Per tissue, by Board Certified Veterinary Pathologist)
Professional Consultation (Per hour, 1 hour minimum)
Digital Photomicroscopy (Per hour; 2 hour minimum)
