ImageQuantify.com is an online quantitative image analysis service for preclinical research.
Using secure cloud technology and the ease of e-commerce, the site (https://www.ImageQuantify.com) provides validated and automated image analysis software tools for common (or custom) preclinical imaging assays. As a result, all preclinical researchers may now take advantage of accurate, reproducible, objective imaging analytics that are both affordable and easily accessible. Unfortunately, .traditional approaches to image analysis are plagued by a number of common shortcomings:
Manual, human-based image analysis is costly, time-consuming, labor-intensive, and generates highly subjective and variable data
Software that has not been fully validated may generate inconsistent data and inaccurate conclusions
Advanced software suites are expensive, overly complex, and present a high barrier-to-use for researchers who may not be imaging experts
"IQbots" enable ImageQuantify.com’s image analysis and data management processes to overcome these obstacles. They are tailored to aggregate and report the information researchers need from their imaging data, allowing users to reap the full benefit of the automated analysis and documentation workflow:
IQbot development leverages a vast existing library of image processing, analysis, and visualization software algorithms from a broad research user base to enable effective analysis design and customization
The system runs in the secure cloud using automated, quantitative image analysis technology to protect user data, increase accessibility, speed the time-to-analysis, and reduce overall research costs
TUBE FORMATION ANALYSIS IQBOT
Endothelial cells, when provided with a 3D extracellular matrix substrate and appropriately supplemented growth media, will self-organize into a network of capillary-like "tubes." This in-vitro assay is commonly used to assess the ability of compounds to stimulate or inhibit angiogenesis. To perform the assay, the endothelial cells are usually seeded (subconfluently) in multi-well plates filled with matrigel (extracellular matrix). While not absolutely necessary (phase-contrast imaging is sufficient although often corrupted by uneven lighting due to the meniscus formed in each well), endothelial cell membranes may be labeled with fluorescent DiI dyes added directly to each well. Each well is subsequently imaged using a high resolution, wide-field microscope using both phase-contrast and fluorescence modes. Images are acquired while raster scanning across each well to form a single, high-resolution mosaic (i.e., multi-tile) image. To analyze a given image, the IQbot applies a series of custom morphological and spectral filters to the mosaic, allowing the endothelial cell network to be segmented and skeletonized for nodal and branching analyses. In doing so, the IQbot is able to report specific area, lumen, node, and branch characteristics of the network.
IQbot ID: IQBOT-0001
Research Area(s): Angiogenesis, Cancer Research
Processing Time Expectation: Less than 4 Minutes Per Image
Acquisition Hardware: Microscope
Techniques, Dyes, Stains, & Proteins: Phase Contrast
Sample Context: In-Vitro
Two versions of this IQbot are offered at two different price points, depending on the extent of your analysis needs. Both offer the same output result documentation and image overlays. The ‘Basic’ analysis is priced at 3 credits per input image (see below for credit pricing details) and reports the following quantitative metrics for each image in the results spreadsheet.
Total Node Count
3-Branch Node Count
4-Branch Node Count
5+-Branch Node Count
Mean Node Thickness
Standard Deviation of Node Thickness
Mean Branch Thickness
Standard Deviation of Branch Thickness
Mean Lumen Area
The ‘Advanced’ analysis tier (4 credits/image) reports all of those output parameters listed above, as well as:
Mean Node-to-Node Length
Mean Endpoint-to-Node Length
Our clients typically apply pre-paid credit bundles to image processing on a per-image basis. As such, you are purchasing credits directly, rather than the analyses. Credits may be applied to any IQbot available via ImageQuantify.com, and never depreciate nor expire (and also are not eligible for refund).
Via Science Exchange, we will allow clients to specifically pay for a certain analysis set. However, pricing will be consistent with credit purchases made directly on our site. Costs will be calculated based on the following credit package prices (note: larger quantities of credits are discounted on a per-credit basis).
100 Credits: $175.00 USD
1,000 Credits: $1,450.00 USD
10,000 Credits: $10,500.00 USD
100,000 Credits: $45,000.00 USD
“IQbots” are the engines that power the ImageQuantify.com analysis and management workflow — tools for common or custom preclinical imaging assays that deliver validated, comprehensive analytics that are objective, reproducible, and accessible. Within every IQbot results package, researchers receive complete data (i.e., quantitative excel spreadsheets, image analysis overlays, usable file formats), image analysis validation certificate, and reference materials (e.g., a video walkthrough of output data, relevant references from scientific literature, materials/methods section(s), and material to support GLP compliance).
