IBT Bioservices is a research organization offering R&D support services to identify and develop vaccines and therapeutics for infectious diseases. As a section of Integrated BioTherapeutics, Inc., IBT is a small business as defined by the SBA and meets the US Government’s requirements for small business subcontracting. IBT’s principals Dr. M. Javad Aman and Dr. Kelly Warfield have a long track record of accomplishments in the filovirus field including highly productive tenures at USAMRIID. Our business is focused on a collaborative “scientist-to-scientist” model where creativity, client interaction, and expertise are emphasized. This focus allows us to keep our costs down with non-GLP preclinical studies that play an integral role in making go, no-go decisions in drug development. We offer the core functions of early R&D including initial screens in vitro and in vivo, animal model development, assay development, immunogenicity testing, and serology testing.

Custom Animal Model Development:
IBT Bioservices can develop and establish custom animal disease models for your in vivo research efforts. We can perform up to BSL-2 work in our animal facilities. Through a network of partners, we can design and manage your BSL-3 studies as well.

Animal studies: serum / tissues are mailed back
In vitro: results compiled in electronic format - raw data in excel, powerpoint for overall presentation, and formal reports in pdf

The viruses currently available for testing are Chikungunya, Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis, Dengue 1-4, Japanese Encephalitis, Yellow Fever, Junin, Influenza H1N1, Influenza H3N2, Influenza B, Rift Valley Fever, La Crosse, Vaccinia, Zika Virus, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus. Tests are performed at BSL-2 where attenuated strains of high containment viruses are used at much lower cost than wild type.

IBT Bioservices has a core competency in the development of assays that support the early research and development of vaccines, biotherapeutics, and drugs. Our capabilities include assay feasibility, reagent sourcing and qualification, optimization, and sample analysis. Our team has extensive experience in both ELISA and enzymatic assays. Immunogenicity assays for vaccines and biologics are our specialty. By leveraging our vivarium we can perform your in vivo studies and then analyze samples using the serology assays that we have developed for your project, ensuring a consistent and cost effective process. Assays are developed using best practices that will allow them to be adapted for GLP use in the future. IBT Bioservices can source or develop the critical reagents necessary for your assays.

The scientists at IBT Bioservices have over 50 years of cumulative experience with vaccine studies in rodents and have formed strong relationships with government agencies and industry partners validating our experience. Our clients benefit from comprehensive sample collection capabilities including blood, tissue, and mucosal samples as needed. Samples can either be sent to your laboratory for further analysis or analyzed in our laboratories for pathogen-specific cellular and humoral immune responses or induction of cytokines and other biomarkers. Dosing routes available include intranasal, intragastric, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intraperitoneal, and intravenous.
