Experimental screening 1,536 different chemical cocktails to find initial crystallization conditions for both soluble and membrane biological macromolecules. Each condition is monitored with a robust imaging schedule using brightfield, SONICC, and UV-TPEF imaging methods to quickly identify potential crystallization hits. A major bottleneck in macromolecular crystallography remains identifying conditions to generate diffraction-quality crystals. The Crystallization Center at HWI has been at the forefront of developing high-throughput crystallization methodology. Using patented technologies uniquely available at the Crystallization Center allows for rapid, efficient screening and identification of crystal growth conditions.
