Department for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy

Ulm, DE

The outpatient clinic of the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital Ulm offers something unique in the world: scientific research in in- and outpatients doing psychotherapy (for all, not only private patients) under controlled conditions for ~6-8 weeks to treat mental disorders where “pills” are by far not enough and/or effectively helpful.

With a multi-professional treatment team, we offer our patients a fault oriented inpatient or day hospital treatment. Our treatment focuses on:

  • concurrent treatment of complex physical and mental illness by specialists in psychosomatic medicine, general medicine and internal medicine, as well as psychological psychotherapists
  • the treatment of depression and fatigue, with special emphasis on vocational aspects
  • specialized psychodynamic treatment of personality disorders, the integrated treatment of eating disorders.
