The Center for Nanotechnology and Molecular Materials at Wake Forest University ("WFU-NANOTECH") was founded in 2004 and serves scientists and engineers from both public and private interests in the Piedmont Triad and surrounding communities.

WFU-NANOTECH offers a wide variety of characterization and device testing capabilities. These include High resolution 300KeV TEM, Conventional 120KeV TEM, Field Emission SEM, Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX), Scanning Auger microprobe analysis (SAM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Atomic Force Microscopy (Ambient, fluid, MFM LFM, and more), and Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (UHV-Variable Temperature)

We also have a Class 1000 clean room which offers access to one and three target DC - AC magnetron sputtering, Thermal evaporation, Automated drawblades, Spray deposition, Fiber draw coating system, and 3D printing technologies (DIMATIX).

Also available are synthesis facilities with nanomaterials growth and polymer synthesis capabilities. These are used on a contactual basis.

We have a technical staff member to aid in the use of equipment and provide guidance and training.

Access to the equipment is subject to scheduling during the hours of 9am to 4pm M-F.
