Southern blot is the golden standard for the identification of positive ES clones when generating knock-out and knock-in mice. However, most of the labs use radioactive probes which are hazardous to both environment and experimenter. Moreover, high background and low specificity are the common problems encountered in Southern blot. Weeks or even months are wasted in the optimization of experimental conditions. We are specialized in Southern blot analysis. We use non-radioactive approach with same sensitivity as radioactive protocol. Turnaround time is only one month from probe design, probe screen to positive ES clone identification.
