Bridge Organics chemists have considerable experience in the preparation and analysis (NMR, mass spec) of 2H and 13C compounds. The process involves designing a synthetic route amenable to incorporation of the label(s), carrying out the preparation “cold”, and once well worked out, running the chemistry with the appropriate labeled compounds. Bridge Organics chemists could readily apply this expertise to other stable isotopes.
Stable labels such as deuterium have been incorporated into target molecules by several different methods at Bridge. These include catalytic hydrogenations with D2, chemical reductions with LiAlD4, and replacement of exchangeable hydrogens using D2O. Likewise, 13C labeling can be carried out by a variety of methods well known to Bridge chemists.
Oxidative cleavage of carbon-carbon multiple bonds is readily achieved through ozonolysis. At Bridge Organics, ozonolyses can be run in either batch or continuous mode. In the latter case at up to 5 moles of substrate/hour can be processed, with the post-ozonolysis reaction stream being directed to a quench tank where various work-ups (oxidative or reductive) can be performed.
Our scientists are specialists in the design, development and engineering of batch and semi-batch chemical processes. We offer this service to those companies who would like to develop new processes or would like to develop or improve their particular manufacturing process. We can also work to increase capacity and/or reduce costs of processes.
Bridge Organics offers an array of pressure reaction capabilities, from screening (Endeavor) to multi-kg preparation and process optimization. We have lab scale glass reactors (Parr shakers) as well as stainless steel stirred autoclaves from 0.5 L to 20 L in volume. Reaction temperatures up to 125ºC, and pressures up to 300 psi can be accommodated during hydrogenations, carbonylations and other pressure reactions.
Bridge Organics routinely carries out complex multi-step syntheses to generate high purity analytical reference standards for customers. Frequently, the chemistry used to make these compounds is unknown or poorly developed, and requires substantial investigation.
