Frozen Human Tissue

Price on request

We are delighted to offer frozen tissues, organs and blood from deceased donors and living, clinical donors.

Clinical tissue procurement:

We have extensive access to frozen tissue samples in ongoing biorepository collections.

Our clinical repositories have a variety of fixed human tissues/ specimens in stock, covering a range of samples that one would expect to find in a clinical tissue bank, particularly for solid tumors.

Frozen serum, plasma & buffy coat (non-viable) are collected from each donor.

Extensive clinical data is available.

Normal/ control samples or normal adjacent to tumor tissue (NAT/ NTA) frozen tissue samples may also be available.

Specialist blood collection partners

A variety of healthy donors and donors with diseases world wide, particularly infectious disease, available in biorepository or collected prospectively in the tubes of your choice.

Tumor Tissue

Price on request

We work with oncology biorepositories, cancer biobanks and post mortem donor centres to supply the cancer specimens you require, with particular expertise in solid tumor samples.

CLINICAL BIOBANK TISSUE SAMPLES:

Clinical biosample formats:

Our partner cancer repositories can provide;

- Cancer FFPE paraffin blocks (read more)
- Frozen tumor samples (read more)
- Cancer serum samples, cancer plasma samples and cancer buffy coat samples matched from the same oncology patients. (read more)

These may already be available from a cancer tissue bank or collected prospectively.

Plus we can work with our clinical cancer biobank to help you find:

- Fresh tumor samples.
- Follow up cancer samples, such as tumor metastases samples, removed subsequent to removal of the primary tumor sample along with blood samples (serum, plasma, buffy coat) donated on each day of surgery.
- Normal control tissue samples from the same or different patients (normal adjacent to tumor) or from operations for other conditions, such as obstructions or inflammatory conditions (for example, non-resectable polyp in non-cancerous bowel/intestine patients), for comparison purposes.
- Normal bone marrow available surplus to diagnostic requirements.

Clinical biosample data:

Our clinical samples are highly annotated.

In-depth clinical data is available from our clinical cancer biorepository partners to inform your cancer sample research.

Data includes:

- Demographic information,
- Certain lifestyle details,
- General and disease-specific data,
including treatment details, clinical histories plus follow-up treatment data.

Extraction and Screening of Data Included

On receipt of an order, our partner site’s staff will ensure that the time-consuming processes of extracting and screening through these patient data to search for suitable tissue samples and/or blood samples are carried out so that you can receive the most suitable high quality annotated human tissue cancer samples.

We offer fresh tissues, organs and blood from deceased donors and clinical donors.

Post mortem tissues and organs – Location and Collection

Our post mortem donation facility and clinical biorepository are located in the US for your convenience and reassurance.

This makes it possible to provide customized collections of a wide range of fresh human tissues and biofluid samples, collected prospectively and prepared according to your protocol/ requirements.

You can read more about our Post mortem tissues and organs here.

Shipping

Fresh human organs, tissues or biofluids can be transported;

- in your preferred stabilising buffer or nutrient medium to preserve any viable human tissues or cells,
- on ice or at ambient temperature,
- in a specialized transport fluid, such as those used for transporting organs for transplant or those developed specifically for shipping fresh tissues for research at ambient temperature for long periods.

Availability

Post mortem tissues and organs are not limited in terms of location or quantity available, severity of disease or by the need to retain samples for diagnosis, and whole organs and tissues that are not available through surgery, such as brain and spine, are available.

Donors’ medical questionnaires can be screened for comorbidities and medications.

The minimum time from donor death to sample collection is normally 3 hours, but such donors are rare so longer post mortem intervals, of 12 or more hours, will significantly increase rates of availability.
