Assay.Works is a private contract research organization (CRO) occupying a 750 m2 state-of-the-art laboratory located in the Regensburg BioPark, the second largest hub of the Bavarian biotech cluster. Our mission is to accelerate our partner’s research programs by developing and executing predictive and scalable assays to quantify the bioactivity of novel chemical and biological entities. We combine scientific rigor with our domain expertise in laboratory automation, informatics, and industry best practices to turn challenging assays into quantitative, reproducible results.
Mammalian cell line engineering and stable cell line generation
High-throughput functional cell clone selection for superior performance in the actual functional (HTS) Assay. Successful applied for several difficult to express membrane targets.
Flow cytometry-based generation of cell clones tailored for optimal surface expression.
Ion channel cell line generation with electrophysiology validation by our partner Metrion Biosciences.
Assay development and optimization for biochemical and cell-based assay formats
Hit identification using Assay.Works small molecule diversity set of 150.000 compounds, client-provided libraries or partner libraries. HTS is supported by integrated time- and temperature controlled multi device platform. Hit identification and HTS work flow are based on biopharmaceutical industry standards with a robust set of best practices, skilled staff, sophisticated laboratory and tissue culture automation in place.
Target identification or pathway validation using Assay.Works 97.000 siRNA sequences targeting the human
druggable genome. Different RNA chemistries and intrinsic redundancy has been built into the collection to statistically identify false hits.
Combination siRNA Screening:
Genetic interaction and Pharmacological interaction screening using Assay.Works siRNA collection or 4480 small molecules compounds of the phenotypic toolbox collection
Invitro bioactivity assessment
Characterization of screening hits and lead candidates, concentration response experiments to determine potency efficacy, selectivity and mechanism of action. Collection of 120 engineered cell lines covering a broad range of transmembrane targets available for profiling.
Molecular Interaction by Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) of lead compounds provided by our partner 2bind GmbH.
