ACD’s cell-based assays allow unprecedented examination of a compound’s functional specificity, enabling the development of highly selective and well-characterized drugs that will speed your drug discovery efforts and help you navigate around previously unforeseeable side effects.

ACD maintains state of the art laboratory suites that are function specific and physically isolated from each other. This encourages an efficient workflow and prevents the unwanted introduction of potentially contaminating materials or reagents between suites. Our molecular biology facility is equipped to handle all aspects of gene isolation (or synthesis), modification, and expression in either prokaryotic or eukaryotic systems. Once constructed, the appropriate reagents are transferred to our tissue culture suite for production of the corresponding cell-based assay system(s). Finally, the assays are transferred to our screening facilities, where we validate their performance and long-term stability prior to incorporating them into our ever growing panel of assays.

We offer cell-based protein tyrosine kinase assays and profiling services. Our panel is constructed using IL3-dependent mouse Ba/F3 cells that are rendered cytokine-independent via the introduction of a constitutively-activated tyrosine kinase. Please inquire for a complete list of available assays (assays may also be purchased for internal research purposes). Assay endpoint is cellular viability assessed via ATP content as a surrogate marker (CellTiter Glo). Compounds can be arrayed for dose ranging (three duplicate concentrations in one log intervals = $150/compound/cell line) or dose-profiling (ten duplicate concentrations in half-log intervals = $350/compound/cell line). Studies are routinely launched no later than one week after receiving test compounds and the deliverables include a written final report and primary data as a GraphPad Prism file (provided within ten business days of launching the study). Test compounds should be delivered at a concentration that is 1,000-fold greater than the desired final assay concentration, and a minimum volume of 100 uL is required.
